The hurricane of 1921 was one of Tampa's worst disasters. Flood waters from Tampa Bay caused most of the damage. The October 25 hurricane had been preceded by heavy downpours, nearly seven inches in less than 24 hours. The Bayshore Boulevard seawall was heavily damaged, and Hyde Park, pictured here, flooded.
