This domed building used to be the Hillsborough County Courthouse, located at Franklin and Lafayette St. (now Kennedy Blvd.) It has since been demolished. In the background to the right is Tampa City Hall.

Cirkut images are panoramic views taken with a special camera which could rotate up to 360o and produce a sweeping image.
There are 439 Cirkut negatives approximately 10" high and up to nearly five feet long.
These negatives were produced on nitrate film and have deteriorated severely over the years. The library has created new negatives and prints from the old negatives. The digital images of these prints are available for viewing through the library's online catalog.
