The Bookmobile of the Tampa-Hillsborough County Public Library System helps the library to extend its services to reach those residents that may not otherwise have an opportunity to visit a library.

Bookmobile History
During the Depression, Works Projects Administration funds made bookmobile service possible.
In the 1950's, the bookmobile was known as the "Traveling Branch" and was quite popular among its users.
During the 60's, the bookmobile served as a mobile neighboorhood branch while library locations were being built or remodeled.
Today
The bookmobile today is a state-of-the-art facility that offers most of the services expected at a branch library.
In 2001, the bookmobile underwent a refurbishment to reflect the new look of the Hillsborough County Public Library Cooperative.
