The Thonotosassa Branch Branch Library is proud to be celebrating almost a decade of service to the Thonotosassa and surrounding northeastern Hillsborough County area.

Open to the community since July of 1989, this community library has built a collection of fiction and nonfiction, adult, young adult and children's materials exceeding 40,000 volumes. In addition the library has a growing selection of videos and books on audio tape.

As community services, the library offers many continuing and special programs for children and families and excellent meeting room facilities. Regularly scheduled programs include a children's Story Time, a summer reading program for school-age children and after school films for students. In addition, a schedule of special programs, special Story Times, video presentations, visiting puppeteers, speakers and guest celebrities results in a uniques and exciting library learning experience.

The Thonotosassa Branch Library follows a philosophy of maintaining a strong commitment to its community, a community whose population is projected to surpass 41,000 by the year 2000. The library will always strive to serve as the information and learning resource for the immediate community and surrounding areas.
